Essay title: Smokers Accommodations
I do not feel that smokers should be entitled to any “accommodations” for the bad habit that they have picked up. If the smoker is working the same 8 hour shift as the non smoker they would each get equal breaks. No I would not let them take three 10 minute breaks. Everyone is equal.
I had this problem at the last place I was the manager. One of the assistance well actually two of the assistant managers both had smoking habits. Several times during there shifts they would go outside and smoke. I did not actually witness the problem first hand. I had 5 employees that come to me individually and told me about the unfairness that was going on when I was not there. So I started to “drop in” more often. I told both of the women that I was concerned that there was a little unfairness going on concerning breaks. One of the managers jumped down my throat and told me not to worry about things when I was not there
