Essay title: Soil Testing Paper

Part A:

There was mostly bush land that looked as if it had been preserved for a purpose, as it was surrounded by housing estates, a carpark and reticulation.

Part B:

The aim of this experiment is to observe the changes in the soil of Mindarie Senior College over an 11 week time period.

The materials needed were;

• A collection of soil,

• 2 Ice cream containers,

• A sieve or fly wire mesh,

• 200mL measuring cylinders,

• Ruler (marked with mm),

• Filter funnels,

• Filter wool,

• 2 100mL beakers,

• Ph kit,

• Bunsen burner,

• Evaporating dish,

• Tripod,

• Limestone tester (reactant).

The methods were all different for the different experiments we did on the soil.

Experiment A:

(Collect valid looking soil from the bush land on the grounds of Mindarie Senior College).

1. Make a brief note about the features of the site as you collect the soil.

2. Collect 2 good handfuls
