Essay title: Sports Booster Clubs
In this essay, I will give my opinion over Booster Clubs. I feel booster clubs can be very beneficial. Most booster clubs are organized at the University and High School level. I think they are even the biggest at the High School level, where funding for athletic teams are not as great as the funding at the collegiate level.
The actual definition of a booster club is an organization that is formed to contribute money to an associated club, sports team, or organization. Normally these booster clubs are ran by parents of the students that are playing for a particular team or organization. These booster clubs often have fundraisers that help raise money for supplies or equipment that the students may need or for trips that the students may need to take. I remember when I was in high school, we did many fundraisers for our basketball team so we could travel greater distances to enter better basketball tournaments. At every home basketball game, our booster club would set up a table to sell items, such as magnets, towels, ribbons, and more. These were very popular with the fans and brought in a great amount of money throughout the year.
At the collegiate level, most funding is done through
the University. The big sports of football and men's basketball bring in a great amount of revenue from their ticket sales, which do help each of the other sports teams. You can never have enough money though, so most college teams do
