Essay title: Strict Parents
Strict Parents
Why are my parents so strict? Why are some of my friends parents strict and some aren’t? I asked my Mom these questions to help me write this paper. My Mom said that there are several reasons she is strict on me. One reason is that she wants to protect me from making mistakes that can harm me for the rest of my life. She also wants to protect me from people who don’t have my best interest at heart. She said that when you are young if you are given too much freedom you can get in situations that you aren’t old enough to handle.
Protecting me from making mistakes that can harm me seems okay but if I don’t make mistakes how am I going to learn things? I guess my Mom was talking about life changing mistakes such as not getting a good education so you can take care of yourself in the future. She also has seen so many young people end up with the responsibility of raising a baby. She definitely wants to protect me from this. A baby would definitely change anyone’s life.
I am sure that there are a lot of people that I would meet who don’t have my best interest at heart because they don’t even know what is in their own best interest. There are so many young people do alcohol and drugs now. My mom says that kids can easily get it if they want it. My Mom says that if someone is drinking or doing drugs then they always want their “friends” doing the same thing. They think it is cool and so they put pressure on others to join in the fun.
My Mom gives me some freedom but she makes sure that I have rules to follow.
