Team Communication
Teams and group collaboration are becoming and increasing aspect of academia and have been apart of the business environment for many years. One of the most important aspects of working with other people in a team is, communication. Before a team can function together properly they must understand the importance of team communication, the ways a team communicates, and how to avoid the barriers that get in the way of communication.
Communication in a team is vital, without communication a team simply cannot function. Effective communication can help a group of individuals, function as a single cohesive unit. A man, or woman, be him self can only accomplish so much, but a group of men can accomplish anything. Look at modern society, the basis for its existence is the idea of people working together to accomplish tasks that a single person cannot. Communication helps groups get things done, leads to improved creativity, effective sharing of information and efficient use of time while away from the team.
There are various way s of communication and technology is opening up more way for teams to communicate everyday. Meetings are held by teams to communicate their ideas and thoughts to each other. Traditional meeting take place where all the participates are in the same physical location at the same time, communicating face to face. Today many businesses and schools are encourages the usage of “virtual” meetings. These “virtual” meetings can take place when the participates are not at the same physical location, and in same cases when the participants aren’t communicating at the same time. The various way a team can hold “virtual” meetings
Can include, but are not limited to , video conferences, phone conferencing, e-mail, blogs/or virtual forums, and on-line chat. Just having a meeting is not enough, you must make sure that the information flow during a meeting
