I. Censorship in America

Niggers always talking about witches in the dark by the kitchen fire; but whenever one was talking and letting on to know about such things”

II. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer ended with Huck and Tom finding a bunch of gold that was hidden in a cave by a couple of robbers. Each received $6,000 a peace and Judge Thatcher was keeping it in a trust fund earning a dollar a day. Next, Huck spends some time complaining about being cared for by the Widow Douglas and her sister, Miss Watson. He hates having to be on time, act politely, pray, and study. One night Huck hears a “me-yow” and he responds with another “me-yow”, realizing that it was Tom Sawyer he sneaks out of his window and meets up with a group of boys that decide to make a band of robbers. Later on Huck finds out that his drunken dad is in town so he “sells” his treasure to Judge Thatcher so his dad won’t get it. The Widow and the Judge try and get custody of Huck but the new judge won’t allow it and Huck’s dad kidnaps him. When Pap goes to town to drink, Huck fakes his own death by using a pig and hides on Jackson’s Island. He finds Miss Watson’s slave, Jim, also hiding on the island. Jim ran away to avoid being sold. Huck and Jim join up. They travel along the Mississippi river and come across a house boat where Jim sees Huck’s father dead, he does not tell Huck. A steamboat runs over their raft and Jim and Huck jump for their lives, Huck is found by the Grangerfords, a family that is in a fight with the Shepherdsons. Huck later finds Jim. After the fight between the two families and the Grangerfords boys are killed, Huck and Jim leave. During this trip downriver they meet two scam artists, the Duke and King. They make a living by ripping off town’s people by showing really bad plays. Later on the Duke and the King scam the three Wilks sisters out of an inheritance; they act like the girls uncles and steal a large bag of gold from them. Huck Takes it back and puts the gold in the girl’s father’s coffin. As the King and Duke are being reviled as scam artists, Jim and Huck are taking the raft. Later, they all meet up again. The Duke and King sell Jim to Tom Sawyers Aunt Sally’s house. Huck pretends to be Tom, and when the real Tom comes he pretends to be Sid. Huck and Tom find Jim and free him, but as they are doing this they are chased by the town’s people, who have guns. Tom gets shot in the leg, and Huck goes to find a doctor leaving Jim alone with Tom to watch him. Huck gets the doctor and when
