Essay title: The Davinci Code and the Church
We all know that the human being is curious. Without this curiosity, we would still live in caves and have no clue about the world. Maybe the United States would not exist. But nothing aggravate people more than myths, especially myths for where no evidence is available. This is mostly applicable to the church, where no one knows the whole truth about it. No one can recall how the church got so much power. There is one thing that bothered the Catholic church in the last time and this was the book and movie: "The daVinci Code" by Dan Brown. Why is the church concerned about it and does it make sense?
In the movie Robert Langdon, played by actor Tom Hanks, is lecturing a course in Paris in Symbology. In real life, this subject does not even exist. With help from a old man, they are searching for the holy grail, while a secret formation within the church is trying to destroy it, because they know if the truth is revealed it will bring down the church. Throughout this movie you never lose tension because the movie is very fast paced. Of course they are holding themselves back with the involvement of the church and Opus Dei.
They have to use the conspiracy theory as a base of the movie and Dan Brown uses it as well in his book, but the movie never tries to missonate people. The impact of the book can be seen clearly, when we have a look at the location where the movie was shot.
As mentioned before, the whole story is located in some famous buildings like the Louvre in Paris. The movie makers were allowed to shoot inside one of the most famous, if not the most famous, museums of the world. They were allowed to shoot inside the room where the "Mona Lisa" is located and also to move some paintings. Another
