Pledge allegiance to the flag of United States of America. And to the republic for which it stands. One nation under god, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. So is it that hard? Now be honest. When the announcements came on the television at 7:17 in the morning, how many people were excited to stand up and say the pledge of allegiance? I would like to make a bet that more than half of you in this room didn't even say the pledge of allegiance. And go farther with that, more than half of the kids in the school didn't say the pledge of allegiance. Many kids take the pledge of allegiance as something they have to say. I believe that everyone should want to say it, and not feel like it something they have to do. The Pledge of Allegiance is a promise or oath of allegiance to the United States, and to its national flag. It is commonly recited in unison at public events, and especially in public school classrooms, where the Pledge is often a morning ritual. Now hearing what the pledge of allegiance actually is does it change your mind about actually saying it or would you rather still stand there and hear it ? The pledge of allegiance repersents the united states of america, so if you like to just stand there and hear it be said, or worse than that talk during the pledge of allegiance, all you are doing is showing disrespect to our country. Right now there are troops over seas, as all of you should know. Everytime you disrespect our country it is providing the assumption that you don't care how the troops are risking there life for your freedom. OK maybe not you personally. But the united states of america. And all of you are legal citizens of the united states. If it is something so little people are asking from you. Why can't you do it? When there are people over seas dying, injured, and suffering for you. One thing in return wouldn't hurt. Simply showing respect. And it's not just the point of people not saying the pledge of allegiance or talking during it. If you can go back to your first day of kindegarden, you walked into an environment
