Essay title: The Time Machine
The Time Machine
Over the summer I read a book called “The Time Machine” by H.G. Wells. It told a story about a time traveler who went into the future and to his surprise found a group of creatures called Morlocks and Eloi. The Morlocks take the “time travelers” time machine thus beginning a series of events that take place until he finds it again.
The narrator and main character in this book is referred to as “The Time Traveller”. He created the time machine and used it to travel through the Fourth Dimension into the year 807,701. The novel is mostly a description of his expedition. He can basically be described as very wise, sharp, but very lost and unsure of himself at times. While reading this novel you can automatically tell the “time traveller” is intelligent and outgoing for just inventing such a machine that allows you to travel to the past and future. To me I believe this character was missing fear, every human being fears something in life, it’s what makes us human. The “time traveller” had none what so ever. My biggest question was “why did he build the time machine, was he looking for something”?? That question was never answered so I guess we’ll never know the point of the “time travellers” whole journey.
