Essay title: The War in Iraq
The War in Iraq
I conducted five interviews on five different age groups and asked them all the same five questions. I feel like asking the same questions would give me a better understanding as to how they all felt similar or how they all felt different. The questions are as follows. Do you think it was good that we went to Iraq? Why? Do you think we should still be in Iraq? Why? Why do you feel we are in Iraq? Each paragraph will focus on each of these questions.
Do you think it as good that we went to Iraq? Four out of the five interviews all said yes, in the beginning, which makes me believe that this would be the American standard, that yes it was a good idea that we went to Iraq, but this is how we felt in the beginning. One of my interviewees said no, this was John, who is twenty on years old. In the next paragraph we will look at as to why he feels this way, and why the other interviewees felt the other way.
Do you think it was good that we went to Iraq? "I wanted them to feel how our country felt on 9/11. They threatened our national security, each day I step outside and see a plane fly over, a certain threat always comes to mind, it is not like how It used to be when you felt no threat." This quote was from Christela, who is twenty six. I was very excited to interview Christela because she is fairly new to America. She is from Haiti. Unfortunately Haiti does not really have a government and things are terrible there with killings everyday and no system to correct it, it became very unsafe for her and her family. Her brother was then shot and killed at the age of fifteen while getting a candy bar at a store, after that her family moved here. She explained to me that when she moved here she finally felt sad. And again unfortunately that did not last long. After the attack on 9/11, she says that America as she saw it was no more. John, the interviewee that felt we should not be in Iraq said that, "it sucks that we have to take care of people in a a different country, when alls they did is hurt and kill our innocent citizens, people right here are dying, and no one cares." This is in reference to Hurricane Katrina.
Do you think we should still be in Iraq? Of course after reading the last paragraph you should realize that all
