Essay title: What Fitness Means
What does fitness mean to me? Well to start off, when I think of fitness, I think of exercise. Getting out there, and doing something that wears you out, but also makes you feel good about yourself. Then I go on to thinking about eating right, or you could say I think about nutrition. But when it comes to fitness and your health, I think a big part of being successful in achieving any goals you may have, is to be happy with yourself. Confidence is also a huge factor. That is what I will be touching on in this paper. What does fitness mean to me. Since I have addressed that already, lets go into a little more depth, and explanation of my thoughts.
Lets start off with exercise. There are many types of exercise these days that people explore. For example, karate, yoga, pilates, weight lifting, cardio, and so much more. I feel that it is important when choosing a form of exercise, that you need to find something that you enjoy doing. According to an article on 24 hour fitness website, exercise might actually make cancer patients feel better. That they need to use some energy, and not to sit around all day, which in return reduces the bodies energy supply. So there we are, a prime example of what exercise and using energy can do for a person who is very sick. Things like yoga, can also help reduce stress, by relaxing your body. So there are many different kinds of exercise that focus on helping in many different areas. They can help you with illness, weight loss, relaxation, training, and so much more.
Next I want to touch on nutrition. Some people don’t plug in this to there equation when it comes to fitness. Well I think it is very necessary. Things like drinking enough water. If you don’t drink enough water it could lead to dehydration, which then in turn has bad side affects. Like headaches, and fatigue, not to mention it could make you very sick. Also, eating a proper amount of fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately, when your parents, or grandparents told you to eat up your fruits and veges, because its good for you, they were right. But it was so terrible. Actually not really, also according to 24 hour fitness website, eating your fruits and veges, can help prevent you from getting heart disease. Staying away from large amounts of calories and sugar. Not saying that sugar and calories should be left alone period, it just shouldn’t be overdone. Every now and then, a sugary snack won’t hurt. But making sure also that you are taking in vitamins that are very good for you and your health. So I believe watching what you eat, and eating right, not so much dieting, is a very important role in fitness to me.
Finally, I believe the most important role is confidence. Believing in yourself that you can accomplish whatever you set your mind to. According to dictionary.com,
