Essay title: What Is the Impacts of the Aids Panemic

What is the Impact of the AIDS Pandemic?

The AIDS pandemic (world-wide disease) was first identified a little over twenty years ago. In the years since that first diagnosis and description, the disease has spread to all corners of the world, with the African continent being the area where the problem is the most serious. The impact of this disease is widespread and covers virtually all areas of society. The government has responded by creating programs to prevent the spread or the disease. There are condom distribution programs in most areas because AIDS is a sexually transmitted disease. Finally, most church programs in the world are encouraging abstinence from sexual activity as the only sure way of preventing the spread of AIDS.

There are many organizations that have been established to help decrease the spread of AIDS. The United States alone has decided to donate fifteen billion dollars to help the AIDS cause. One of the most affective organizations that helps the AIDS pandemic is the Global Health Fund which has raised billions of dollars to help people suffering from the disease. Not only does it help prevent the spread of the disease but it also helps find children whose parents have died due to AIDS find new homes and also help those suffering with the deadly disease.

In the United States there are several programs that distribute free condoms to the youth with the hope of preventing STDs. If you are sexually active condoms are the best way to prevent HIV but there is still no guarantee that you will be safe from the disease. One of the ways the United States is helping Africa with their AIDS problem is by distributing condoms to those who normally couldn’t afford or just wouldn’t bother using condoms.
