Instead Egeus declare she must marry Demetrius or be put to death or spend her life in a nunnery. Lysander and Helena come up with the plan to escape from Athens and marry outside its unjust laws. I can tell from reading it's an imaginary place with enchanted woods fairies beautiful flowers, magical things with castles and horse drawn carriages. The prevailing mood of this comedy is light and romantic. Throughout the play, there is love, humor, music, song, and dance. The presence of the fairies and a general atmosphere of fantasy add to the charm and light-hearted nature of the play.
