A Place I Travelled To
It came as a surprise; the invitation to a cook out. The surroundings that the so called cookout was supposed to take place were in a cave! outside the city. We were going to celebrate our cousin’s birthday there. He wanted something different and now he was getting something different but the best part was that it was only going to be for teenagers.
After a long and bumpy ride we finally arrived at the place just to find that there is an half an hour climb waiting for us. Finally we landed at the cave with our gear to find some weirdly dressed guys waiting for us. One of them was my cousin. My cousin along with his friends let out a series of yells to greet us.
The cave itself was dark and gloomy. The little oil lamps that they lit all around the cave, during the day time, cast only a faint light around. We could barely see each others faces. Thank god I had brought my torch along. I switched it on and was amazed to see some weird pictures on the wall. I was fascinated but was soon badly disappointed to know that my cousin was the brilliant artist behind these drawings and not some real cavemen who had lived there thousands of years ago.
Seeing that there was nothing better to do in this drab place, I started to explore its surrounding. Nearby was a stream and in it a lot of fish. My cousin and his weird friends waded in to catch fish and I mean literally with their hands. The intention was to roast the fish for the dinner. They caught nothing! Rawat’s fish were smart.
