A Reflection Of Me
When I reflect on my thoughts about what college I wanted to attend, SLU was not one of my choices. I figured that I would be staying on the campus of the University of Illinois. I would be rushing for one of their fraternities or joining as many clubs as possible. I applied to SLU to make my mother happy financially and emotionally. She did not want me going too far away from home. I had no idea what a Jesuit college was nor did I care. As I began to read more information about SLU, I became interested in attending. Hopefully, by attending SLU, I will accomplish more goals, gain life lessons, and grow into a better person.
As I go through my college experience, I hope to have many accomplishments behind my name. My top desire while here at SLU will be to graduate with a degree in Investigative Science. I want to do more than what I did in high school. In high school, I never really participated in any clubs or sporting events. I had a fear of not being able to keep my grades up and participate in the events. Well, that will all change during my time at SLU. I feel SLU will help me meet the desires I have for myself. SLU has an outstanding education program, and it offers many different clubs and organizations. I will accomplish all my goals and desires with hard work and dedication.
The lessons I learned in high school are nothing like the ones I am learning here at SLU. My top two lessons I need to work on are time management and money management. Throughout the entire summer, I stayed out late and partied like the night would never end. It worked for me because the only thing I had to worry about was my job. I did not have to go to class the next day and I had neither homework nor test to worry about. I figured I could carry on like this even when I started college. I learn my lesson the hard way. Due to my excessive partying, I was almost late on my first day at SLU. Bad timing is not my only issue; managing money is a problem for me as well. When I have money, I just have the urge to spend uncontrollably. I buy items that I do not really need: I mainly just buy because I have the money. When I
