Aids

Misery loves company; unless it is the person you love. There is nothing like the guilt of causing harm to the one person who brings you the most joy and happiness the world has to offer. Love can conquer all things however; even things that are out of one’s control. But then that in itself can be an issue. Can it be possible to determine what is in our hands or apart of God’s plan? Maybe we blame too much on God and not enough on the actions of ourselves. Nevertheless, the misfortune of some of our actions either stand the test or fail the test of love.

Inseparable is the only adjective that can be used to describe the two. The passion for each other outweighed the fear of each other’s health. We all take risks in our lives, however, the definition of a risk includes the inability to predict the outcome of a situation. She knew exactly what the outcome would be, but felt her passion for him outweighed her desire for a healthier life.

Nothing was wrong until he started changing his ways. Everyone is afraid of change and that is the reason why the differences were so difficult to bear. We especially fear what we do not understand. She didn’t understand why it was he didn’t have the drive to do the things they used to do. Their relationship had thrived off of the energy which was fed off of each other. When the energy left, so did much of the joy. However, the love never left.

The biggest problem with change in a relationship is that we complain over this individual not being the one we fell in love with. The issue with that is, is that too big of an expectation? Do you really expect a significant other to be the same weight or act the exactly the same as he or she did when you first met them. His weight loss and lack of energy was not a thought to be anything malignant, just a sign of laziness. If you are too lazy to get food, you will clearly lose weight and will lose energy because of the lack of food. These were indefinitely signs of the beginning of something of great concern for him and her.

Naturally, distance began to form between the two. Distance caused by the expectation that time would heal all wounds, without the knowledge of this being something here to stay. On a later encounter, she realized that he was even worse than he was before the break. In addition to the heightened traits he was previously exhibiting, he also seemed as if he had been bruised from fighting and rashed possibly from some kind of foliage. He was not the same. Mental and physical changes continued to occur from this point on; so many that these were clearly not a series of one time occurrences. Her concern told her to stay by his side instead of selfishly feeling as if she had lost certain thrills that once gave her such joy. They were closer than ever in a spiritual sense and a sexual sense. As his physical condition worsened, they got closer.

There came a point where she felt she could not take care of him any longer. His physical state was becoming too much for her to bear. She found herself having to look out for her own well-being as well as his. She couldn’t be there for him as much as she used to. Whether he died from a broken heart or of disease is still a mystery, but either symptom brought about great suffering.

She felt as if she had failed. In time of tragedy we all think back to what we could have done differently to have prevented the tragedy. Maybe she could have done more for him and maybe she could have been there for him more instead of selfishly withdrawing as soon as she felt neglected. Regardless of all her feelings, she still did not have any idea why or how this happened to him. But more importantly, did her physical condition have anything to do with this same plague that caught a hold of him? Day by day she was feeling worse. As time went by, she found herself scrunched up in one spot for hours at a time; the spot close to the water where she laid him to rest at. Most of the time she would cough herself to sleep but sometimes her head would feel so dizzy that all she could do was close her eyes and hope the meditation of sleep would cure here ailing. It never got better until she was finally put out of her misery.

The night two desperate people took her life like it was meaningless shows exactly what lengths people will go to to survive. As the expression goes, “survival of the fittest.” The fact is, she was not fit enough to survive. If you don’t have the physical capabilities to fend for yourself when you are being
