For this term of Painting, I would like to use the available time to create several series of paintings. These series will be experimentations in color, form, and texture. My goal is to approach the subject of "art" as a variety of expressions, some color and form, others abstract and arbitrary. In this way, I hope to learn what techniques and styles work best for me.
The first two series are titled "Blue Series" and "Pink Series".
As the names suggest, these two series will be an examination of gradations of color, what effects you can achieve by applying different layers of paint on the canvas, and of the adding of different colors affects the original color.
The third series will be a set of separate images related to a stereo. In this series, I would like to utilize the space created between canvases, and the different ways to accentuate that space. The paintings will be close-up images that will be arrainged together to create the final object. I would like to show how the spatial relationship between certain objects can create the illusion of actual images in negative
