Sergeant Schneider is enthusiastically recommended for the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for superior performance of duties while serving as; Motor Transport Maintenance Floor Chief and Quality Control NCO for Headquarters and Service Company (-), 6th Motor Transport Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group, Marine Forces Reserve from February 2005 to October 2006. Throughout this period Sergeant Schneider displayed the highest qualities of technical skill, resourcefulness, and dedication in the execution of his duties. The following highlights detail his outstanding service during this period:
Motor Transport Maintenance Shop Chief;
- He assisted other mechanics and instructed Marines in the proper way of conducting all levels of maintenance while in both Garrison and field enviroments.
- During this period, he distinguished himself through his superior knowledge of motor transport equipment as well as his outstanding degree of resourcefulness and organizational skills. Established working desktop and turnover binders for Floor chief, Modifications NCO and Quality Control NCO
- Sergeant Schneider was the lead on the maintenance of over 55 Motor Transport principle end items and provided on-the-spot troubleshooting along with outstanding response time once a problem was reported, it was fixed as expeditiously as possible and many times on the spot.
- Sergeant Schneider consistently demonstrated the ability to effectively communicate all maintenance concerns during the section's weekly brief. This demonstrated a great deal of technical proficiency in his Military Occupational Specialty.
- As a direct result of his perseverance, he was able to identify those items that required a long lead-time and those items needed for critical repairs. With this information, he quickly implemented procedures and was instrumental in implementing "immediate action" to all motor Transport Equipment and its components.
Quality Control NCO;
- Sergeant Schneider ensured that all maintenance repairs were performed in a professional manner.
- Performed second through limited third echelon limited technical inspections on over 50 Delta TAMCN Principle end items, during this inspection process Sgt Schneider was able was able to identify Non Mission Capable assets that were immediately inducted into the maintenance cycle which assisted in reducing the Principle End Items Repair Cycle Time.
