The trade balance of goods and services of Japan (or net exports) over past ten years (2000-2010) were a positive number. It's also call trade surplus. In this period, while their trade balances of goods were in surplus, trade balances of services were in deficit. Due to limited natural resources to sustain the growth of the economy, Japan must depend on others countries for raw materials so the country imports a large amount of goods. However, the positive proportion of trade in goods still much exceeded the negative one of trade in services. Therefore, Japan has a positive Balance of Trade figure in total.

In 2001, 2008, and 2009, because of the slowdown and the recession of world economy, Japan's trade balance declined bellow 25 billion US dollar.

The other years in the period, the numbers were between 70-95 billion US dollar.

Indonesia have a positive Balance of Trade, the export is larger than import. Indonesia reported a trade surplus equivalent to 1,905
