BRE Bank controls complex batch processing through a single management console, using CONTROL-M solutions
BRE Bank founded in 1986 is one of the leading financial institutions in Poland in terms of equity, financial performance, growth rate, diversity of the product offer and high-tech banking systems. The bank is present in all major banking activities in Poland, holding a major and leading role in corporate and investment banking. BRE Bank has won international recognition. It has been named five times the Best Bank in Poland in Euromoney rankings. BRE Bank maintains a large customer bases and with massive number of events transacted everyday, batch processing become significantly important for BRE Bank. To provide quality and 24/7 services to the customers, batch processing must be performed without interrupting banking activities. The bank has 12 operating environment and each handles almost 500 batch processing jobs daily. This frequently involves a manual batch processing process and thereby BRE required highly skilled technicians working 3 shifts across day and night. The bank noticed that batch processing is time consuming and costly because it requires large number of employees. The main challenge was to handle batch processing fast, efficiently and flawlessly without interfering with bank activity, allowing customers 24/7 access to banking services. To solve this problem BRE Bank was looking for a company-wide batch processing solution that will automate its job scheduling task.
To find the solution to the fragmented batch processing system, BRE Bank consulted Accenture, a leading management consulting and technology services company. To help BRE Bank bring in automation and integrated scheduling into the bank IT system, Accenture suggested the CONTROL-M solution by BMC Software. Control-M was installed and used by bank with in few months. According to BRE Bank, the implementation process was very quick and smooth and didn’t require much time and external support. CONTROL-M coordinated and automated the bank batch processing task and provided a inclusive job scheduling process. It provided BRE Bank a single enterprise scheduling solution that could integrate all its business processes and allowed to save time, money and staff resources.
