In the passage from Benjamin Franklin, “Remarks Concerning the Savages of North America,” a sense of kindness and a feeling of childishness is proven through the use of creative diction and examples. This passage gives the reader a great example that sometimes what people tell you is not the truth.
A sense of kindness is illustrated when the “Indian orator stood to thank” the Swedish minister about the story of “the fall of their first parents by eating an apple.” The Swedish minister was kind enough to talk to the Indians and “acquainted them with the principle historical facts on which their religion was founded.” In return, the Indian orator was thankful and “told some of the stories he had heard.” People appreciate when people do good deeds for others and are thankful for them. Showing a sense of compassionateness, they return the favor and are appreciate of it.
On the contrary, some times it does not happen the way as planned. In the story from the Indian orator, childishness is illustrated with the beautiful young woman. A couple of the young Indian hunters were hunting and saw a beautiful young woman. Showing their kindness,
