Brokenness: Subdued Completely
The English language is one of the most complex languages in the world. One word in the English language can have multiple spellings, multiple pronunciations, and multiple meanings. The word broken is a fitting example of how complex the English language is. Brokenness is a work that has one simple definition, but can mean so much. Brokenness can have such an impact on a person, and can be taken in many different interpretations as a broken emotionally, a broken mentally, or broken spiritually.
Every man has had, or will have a broken heart once in his life. Every man feels that the special woman they spend all his time with is the one. The one he will marry. The one that will make his life complete, but then out of the blue she leaves. The man is heartbroken. He has just had a knife stabbed into his back, but he is so depressed that he will not go to the hospital to get it removed. He mopes around, wondering what he did wrong. He is broken emotionally. The man starts to think he is broke down, torn and shattered; he has been left in pieces like he never even mattered. The man feels he is never going to love anyone again. However he has yet to realize, that there are other women out in the world. In life, a man will go through three long term relationships before he meets the woman he will marry. The first will make a gentleman out of him. The second will make him ready for commitment. The third will be the one he will marry, and he will spend the rest of his life with her. The brokenness caused by a broken heart has enough power to blind a man, and bring him down to his knees. It can also have the power to make him never love again. To be broke emotionally can cause serious problems.
Everyone has the problem of being broken mentally. Sometimes it is from work, or it can be during academic activities. Stress is a big factor of being broken mentally. Stress causes numerous problems in our lives. Besides the obvious health problems, stress breaks people down mentally. It can have a psychological effect on how a person goes on with day to day business. Being broken mentally does not necessarily mean that you will be stuck in a room with padded walls. Everyone feels the days when they are strained mentally. It may be a day where a student has three tests on the same day. We wish that they would go away, that all problems will be solved. Our life becomes such a routine that we follow it everyday. Sometimes we just need to stop, and recognize the small things in life, and pray to God. Just stopping out of our busy day, and do this little task for five minutes, can make all the difference in the world. When we feel broke mentally, we just need to stop and breathe.
