Car
Have you ever had one of those days when you wake up and just feel like everything is going to go worn that day? Well November 11th 2003 was exactly that for me. I woke up and just felt like crap, and just did not want to get out of bed, yet get up to go to work. So after about thirty minutes of me just lying in bed dreading the day I finally got up and started my day. I got in the shower and got dressed for work. Then I was I off, I got in my car and started the twenty minute drive to work, not knowing what was in store.
Today wasn’t a very good day. It was cold and was starting to rain. So since it was starting to rain I knew that if I took the way I normally do to get to work it would be backed up cause people out by me just don’t know how to drive. After thinking about the best route to take to get to work, I decided that I would take route 14. I got on 14 and everything was going great, there was good music on the radio, everyone was driving the speed limit. Then all of the sudden the lady in front of me slammed on her breaks, CRASH, the next thing I know I open my eyes to see that the windshield is shattered and all the airbags have been deployed. I didn’t know what to do, I just felt like crying but I stayed strong and just sat there.
I was so scared sitting there. I tried to open my door to see if I could get out and make sure that the lady in front of me was ok. But I couldn’t get my door open. So the next thing that I know the woman from the car in front of me, the one that I hit, came and knocked on my window asking me if I was ok. I was of course because I was wearing my seatbelt and the airbags helped too. She informed me that someone had already called 911 and they were on there way to us. So that’s when I decided that I should call my mom and let her know that I had just gotten in an accident. When she picked up her phone she was like “aren’t you suppose to be at work”? I was like yes but I just got in an accident and she was like NO way, are you ok, are the other people ok? I told her that I thought that I was ok and the lady that I had hit came to me a couple minutes ago and told me that she was ok and that they police were on there way. She asked me where I was so that she could come and meet me, it was at that point when I realized that I was just about at work I was sitting about a thousand feet from the intersection that I need to turn into to get to work. After I told my mom where I was the cops showed up and told asked me if could start my car and move it down the side street that was just a few yards in front of me. To my surprise my car started the first time I tried to start it.
After moving my car to the side street the ambulance arrived and came to my car first because my car had the most damage, and they asked me if I was ok. I told them yes and that I think they should look at the ladies in front of me cause they were elderly and I thought that they should be looked at first.
