Introduced Species
Animals
- Nicaragua has many introduced species, I am only going to talk about three, which are the most important animals Nicaragua has. These animals are Tilapia, Cow, and Horse.
Tilapia
- Tilapias are shaped much like sunfish, and it can be easily identified by an interrupted lateral line characteristics of the cichlid family of fishes. This kind of fish was found 4000 years ago in Africa. Though it was of such great importance to the Greece that it was given its on hieroglyph (Thomas Popma, and Michael Masser, 1999). This type of fish has a tremendous tolerance to polluted water, and it's because they eat a wide range of natural food organisms.
Tilapia has been and still is an important food fish, and because of this people can find it all over the world.
In Nicaragua this fish represents opportunities to people that don't have a job, or an education. It has a tremendous market, people prefer to buy Tilapia rather than other types of fish.
There is always a good side and a bad side of everything. The good side of tilapia is that helps people to survive, and basically it is important to the economy of Nicaragua. The reproduction of a tilapia
