Community involvement in the policing entails a wide philosophy and managerial approach with a core aim of promoting community, government together with police partnerships, problem-solving approach to address the community problems in existence. The aspect of the policing entails use of community in a large perspective. The community is empowered to air their voice and demands, and at the same time implement these problems with the government peacekeepers. It acts as a philosophy that strives to promoting community strategies supporting public and private partnerships in addressing all those issues that concerns the community(Cops, 2009). Collaboration of the security agents with the purpose of order maintenance is something that is taking toll in the modern programs.
Policing is mostly a local affair and it all depends on the three triads around: the community around, the security government agencies and the policies in the plan of implementation to maintain order in the stated community. Empowering the community from the word go is key to the success of the policing. This consists of community involvement in the process of the policymaking, policy implementation or policy adjustment. If the community owns the project, they feel free and have a certain strength in working and giving full cooperation to the law enforcement group.
Other factors that may be at stake in affecting the community policing are the geographic and political factors. Geographical factors rotate around the location of the community such as being in urban, semi urban or rural.
