Company Intranet
Jett has a somewhat limited use of their intranet. The main things involved in their intranet include customer databases and internal paperwork. This is the extent of their intranet use. The customer databases hold simple customer information which helps them have accurate, easy information access, when applying load information to a load.
The customer database holds the company name, address, phone numbers, contact information, and regular hours of service. This information is obviously key to their work, but I imagined there would have been a more thorough use of their intranet. It serves their purpose, but I am sure there could be more use of the intranet than this. They host their own site, have their own server, and have company email address for the different employees. There is storage of documents used in day to day business on their server. This information comes from scanned in documents, and certain documents that are changed on the computer itself. Everything from employee tax papers and hire in packets, to mileage sheets and pre trip inspection forms
