Project Topic: To develop CSR index for Indian Oil Corporation Limited
Objectives:
- To formulate a CSR index for different projects under IOCL
- Analysis of at least one project using CSR index

Let say,
N1: number of CSR projects under Health & Medical care
C1: Cumulative CSR index value for these N1 projects
N2: number of projects under expansion of education
C2: cumulative CSR index value for these N2 projects
N3: number of CSR projects under clean drinking water supply
C3: cumulative CSR index value for these N3 projects
Overall CSR Index: N1*C1+N2*C2+N3*C3
(N1+N2+N3)
Steps to be followed:
- Top down approach is used.
- Compare spending on CSR activities as a percentage of PAT.
- All CSR activities are splitted in three categories as mentioned in diagram above.
- Analysis of projects in Health & Medical care category
-formulation of questionnaires (say 10) for individual project taking in to considerations like society, consumer, etc.
-analysis of questions on a scale (0-5 say) through responses
- calculating score out of max 50 for each project
-weights being assigned to each project in the ratio of budget allocated for each project e.g., h1, h2, hn1
-calculate the weighted average which will be C1
- Analysis of projects in expansion of education category
-formulation of questionnaires (say 10) for individual project taking in to considerations like stakeholders involved, improvement in literacy rate, etc.
-analysis of questions on a scale (0-5 say) through responses
- calculating score out of max 50 for each project
-weights being assigned to each project in the ratio of budget allocated for each project
-calculate the weighted average which will be C2
- Analysis of projects in supply of clean drinking water category
-formulation of questionnaires (say 10) for individual project taking in to considerations like environment, consumer, etc.
