It is said that public relation agencies are not using social media to develop conversations. This is according to a study by Cision UK which is associated with Canterbury Christ Church University. Most businesses have a website or account on social media where you can ask questions or report problems related to the business. However, in a recent study it was shown that thirty-eight per cent of personal relations professionals never respond. Twenty-eight per cent respond but only on a monthly basis. Most public relations professionals use social media solely to promote their product. Approximately only a quarter of public relations professionals use social networking to share stories. A survey showed that this is not an effective tool for communicating with media professionals. Public relations often use email or telephone to contact journalists as opposed to social media. However, most journalists would prefer to see public relations use more social media. Over two thirds of public relations professionals have said they use social media on a daily basis. The most common social media sites used among them were Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. In all cases eighty per cent or over of the members used these sites. It has been shown that there is
