Information technology (IT) is an important part of our global network. IT one of the main players that develop all applications related to our new technologies. In an interview with Jerry McClean, Director, Information technology for Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. the mission was clear. Create a complete system separate from the parent company Motorola without going backwards. In July 2004, Freescale became a publicly traded company following its initial public offering. Results were separation from former company’s systems, agility within its systems and a competitive advantage for Freescale.

Freescale Semiconductor is a global leader in the design and manufacture of embedded semiconductors for wireless, networking, automotive, consumer and industrial markets. The company provides original equipment manufacturers with chips to help them drive advanced cell phones, manage Internet traffic and to help make vehicles safer and more energy efficient.

McClean stated that the challenge for Freescale was the systems foundation to keep the business operational. The operation included the flow of products, vendor payment, travel expense reimbursement, and human resource management. The implementation and integration of SAP technology was a source of substantial contribution to Freescale’s organization success. In line with the company’s strategy of advancing technology for simplification, speed and savings, Freescale has made tremendous advancements in systems and processes with SAP integrated systems. With each system implementation, Freescale has improved its operational efficiency and increased the speed and accessibility to information.
