David
The life of David was very interesting. David had many accomplishments that many people would look up to and many downfalls that people would look down to. David was born in Bethlehem. When he was little he killed a 9-foot tall giant named Goliath with a sling. He brought out five stones with his sling to challenge Goliath. He only needed one thought to defeat the giant. His brothers and relatives left him at home to watch the sheep, because they thought he was too little and weak to be in a battle.
He was a shepard boy as a kid. He killed lions and bears to save his sheep with his sling when he was little. David was eventually anointed as king by King Saul. Saul also tried to kill David many times because of the jealousy he had over David. David wrote most of the book of Psalms. He was a very musical person.
King David was a powerful ruler. He lived about 40 years. 33 of those in Jerusalem. Even though he was a good king, he was far from a perfect one. One day when his people were at war he spotted a beautiful woman from his rooftop named Bathsheba. He found out that she was married to Uriah the Hittite but that didn’t stop him from sending for her. After he retrieved her he ended up getting her pregnant. He pulled Uriah from the battle and tried to get him to sleep with her so he could make it look like Uriah got her pregnant. That did now work though. Uriah refused to sleep with his wife while his fellow men were battling each other on the battlefield. So David sent him to the front of the lines of the battlefield where he would then die.
