Decision Support Systems
This course focuses on decision support systems. Both the role of decision support systems and the tools used for decision support are examined.
Topics and Objectives include:
DSS AND MS ACCESS
• Identify types of DSS tools.
• Analyze the use of MS Access for DSS.
DSS AND ORACLE
• Analyze the use of Oracle for DSS.
DSS AND WEB SERVICES
• Analyze the use of Web Services for DSS.
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
• Explain the relation of DSS and Knowledge Management.
• Apply DSS using MS Excel.
Faculty
Keith M. Ellis has been a member of the University of Phoenix faculty since 2003. In addition to his Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Keith also holds a degree in mathematics. Keith’s career has taken him from law enforcement and emergency medicine all the way through the creation of one of the first XML-based ad hoc report writers. He currently works for the Tucson business unit of a Fortune 500 company where he manages the unit’s programmer/analysts.
