Discuss the Using Is with the Same Old Situation Without Changing Management Style or Reorganization. What Are the Consequences, What Are the Positives and Negatives.
The present condition of the company structure was wide span of control and high scalar chain, it was centralized upon one person "technical manager" and therefore suffered various difficulties. After some thinking a new technology was introduced to this system, without reorganizing company's structure. In this case I will study, introduction of new technology and the consequences it may lead into the old and new companies structures.
First of all, for a company to introduce new technology into the system, it will spend money that may duplicate their profit or make them loose their money and consequently can lead them to more looses. However we can't state what will happen, until we study all the advantages and disadvantages.
The company's structure before introducing technology suffered a lot of problems, since it was centralized upon "technical manager", which putted up with excessive pressure. His duty was to monitor all the work that was made in the company, and many times he repeated the work that was made by the "team leaders". Therefore he wasn’t up to date to the new changes in the world of technology. This leads the addition of new technology to be pointless, since if the "technical manager" is not confident in using it then the rest of the company's members will feel anticipation towards it, and consequently lack of motivation at work. Moreover since the "technical manager" is so busy with his current work, he won't have time to introduce the new technology in the right way for the team members, so it will build less trust in it. However even if the company's structure will be reorganized, its not a fact that the new technology will be accepted more easily, since anything in this world needs training and experience that needs time to work sufficiently. Since in an old company structure, "technical manager" has really little time for training himself and others to use technology, then mistakes will be made while using it, the time consumed will be more, and the performance will decrease leading the customers to abandon this company, and receiving 'bad' reputation.
After new technology was introduced, the "technical manager" will have even less time for anything, so his performance will decrease. And since the company's structure is build over the "technical managers" shoulders or as they call him the "concrete ceiling", as any ceiling he may crack. For example when building a house, first of all the base walls are build and afterwards the rest of the walls that make the structure of the rooms are put, so when someone buys the house and tries to redecorate the rooms by removing some walls. If he touches the base walls and removes them the whole house will collapse. Or if something builds over them that produces pressure, then they will crack and can collapse ruining the whole house. The same thing is with this company's structure, the "technical manager" is the base wall of a house, which after introducing new technology will feel even more pressure and can "crack", that may lead to the collapse of the whole company or to a big mess.
Thus this company structure just repeats itself, the "technical manager" just duplicated the amount of work he must do, the "team leaders" will be less enthusiastic to work, and will give less motivation to the team, and this will decrease the performance of the company. So I can freely say that the company will just put money for something pointless that won't increase the production and on contrary will make the situation even worse. But any new technology is a risk for any company; it's just a matter of organization and management.
So if we reorganize the companies system will it be more beneficial? To begin with, the companies structure will switch from centralized to decentralize. "Technical managers", work will be to monitor, motivate, train, reward individual's innovations, and emphasize on team work. In the eyes of his colleagues, his status will increase because he will be familiar with everything, he will become similar to up-to-date encyclopedia. But taking all this to account, for a new technology to be introduced, it must be chosen wisely what to take and where to put it, so "technical manager" must take the responsibility. (So Software Assets, that will help the team not to repeat twice the same work, by storing a full documentation of projects; Problem-solution, that will help to solve problems without
