Abstract
The MMR vaccine is a combination of three different live viruses which is given to children at the age of 1 and a second dose at 4/5 years old. The first dose was licensed in the US in 1963 however the second dose was not licensed until the mid 1990s. from 1990-2004 World Health Organization and UNICEF increased the vaccination coverage, which prevented an estimated 1.4 million deaths worldwide. In 1998 Andrew Wakefield reported findings where 12 children who had recently been administered the MMR triple vaccine had been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and bowel symptoms.
