My brother was hit by a drunk driver in the early hours of the morning. He had pulled over to the shoulder off the ramp of the expressway to help a friend out with his car that was stalled. It took only seconds for the drunk driver to hit the back of my brother’s car. His car dragged about 10 feet from where he was parked. Everyone in the car was knocked unconscious. My brother was the only one that came to at the time and was in shock to see his two friends covered with blood. After the whole ordeal my brother came out of the hospital with a couple of scratches and that is when I knew that God was there for my brother that day. As for his two friends one is in a wheel chair and the other had permanent brain damage. This was all because of a drunk driver.
The man who had hit my brother’s car was heavily intoxicated and stated that he never saw the cars. After the collision the drunk driver got off of his car with not a scratch on him. He was arrested but was released on bail. This was injustice because this man had already been convicted twice with drunk driving offences. Finally through a long process he was convicted and sentenced to three years in prison. Although this man was locked up it still did not take away the pain my brother and our family went through.
