Kurt Donald Cobain was born in February 20, 1967 to Don and Wendy Cobain in Hoquiam Washington.The son of an auto mechanic, he lived in Hoqiuam briefly before moving with his parents to nearby Aberdeen, Washington, a small logging town where he was born.Early on, Cobain showed an interest in art and music.According to his Aunt Mari, "He was singing from the time he was two. He excelled at drawing,learned to play piano by ear and practiced beating a set of kid's drums he received as a gift. He was doted on by family members as the center of attention. He spent lots of time with his little sister Kim, whom he adored.This time in Kurt's life was a happy contented one. This contentment would soon end, as now he and Kim had to deal with their parents yelling and fighting as their marriage became increasingly stormy.
At the age of 9 his parents divorced {an event which he later cited as having a profound impact on his life}leaving Kurt very withdrawn and quiet.After a year spent living with his mother following the divorce, he went to live with his father after the divorce. On the weekends, he would visit his mother and his sister. His father later remarried and Kurt resented his stepmother Jenny and her two children.
