Willy's believed that all it takes to become successful is being well liked. Willy thought that Oliver would let Biff borrow some money even though if Bill Oliver hasn't seen Biff around ten years. " You know why he remembered you, don't you? Because you impressed him in those days." (pg.108) Biff stole Oliver's basketball and it been a long time that Oliver didn't see or contact with Biff, so there is no way that Oliver will remember Biff. Once you walk in to the jungle, they don't care if you are well liked because they only care about your skills. They only hired you for your skill not your look. Being well liked is not the key word for being success because being popular can always be forget, but if you have skills it is always there when you need it.
The second reasons that Willy's believed Biff could be a successful salesman. Biff was trying to achieve Willy's goal. "Well, I spent six or seven years after high
school trying to work myself up. Shipping clerk, salesman, business of one kind or another. And it's a measly manner of existence. To get on that subway on the hot
mornings in summer. To devote your whole life to keeping stock, or making phone calls, or selling or buying.
