In Banjo West Tanauan City Batangas, the population is starting to get bigger and bigger. People from other provinces are settling down in this barangay, so the space for each family is getting smaller. And since the baranggay is in the city, most of the agricultural lands were turned to industrial sites. There is small space for agricultural products. There are lots owned by few individual people planted by fruits and vegetables, and sometimes, the community people can ask for some of the crops. But as we all know, it cannot always be like that. People cannot always depend on other’s mercy. They should also start to plant their own crops so that their expenses will be lesser and whenever they wanted fresh crops, they can easily get it at their backyard. But how can they do so if there are limited spaces?
If only people will be given enough instruction on how they can maximize the spaces in their houses for planting agricultural products, it will surely be a great help for them. Since there are many families living in Banjo West suffer from unemployment or underemployment, money is sometimes a problem for them. They tend to lack money; hence, food is given less priorities. If only people will learn urban agriculture, food will no longer be a problem for them. It can also be source of income for them if they are looking for additional income. Not only that it will help them in terms of money, but it can also improve their health.
By coordinating with the baranggay officials, some organizations like Samahan ng Kababaihan, which were formed by housewives of the community and Kalipi, formed by the members of less fortunate families, this project will surely be successful. These people will help because they are the members of the population who are usually unemployed and just stay in their houses.
Since the project will use some methods and ideas from urban agriculture, this program will give information to the people involve about urban agriculture. Urban agriculture, which is found in industrialized places like the city and metropolis, uses natural resources and some used materials found in urban areas. It can give additional income to the people and at the same time help in reducing
