Cleveland Rape Crisis Center: Fundraising Proposal
The Cleveland Rape Crisis Center (CRCC) is a social change nonprofit organization fundamentally based on serving all survivors and their supporters after a sexual assault experience, through superior direct services, advocacy, education, training and activism. The CRCC which began as a 24-hour hotline organization has grown to become an established two prong organization that provides specialized assistance to survivors and their families, through medical, legal, emotional support and to provide educational programs throughout Greater Cleveland with the goal of eliminating sexual assault crimes. Currently CRCC has five signature programs.
q 24 Hour Hotline: volunteers provide crisis intervention, support information and referrals
q Hospital Advocacy: provides training to hospital personnel
q Justice System Advocacy (JSA): Two prong program:
- legal advise for victims
- Provides rape sensitivity training to law enforcement agencies.
q Individual Therapy for Children, Adolescents and Adults: short term one-on-one therapy for children and their families who have been effected by sexual abuse
q Sexual Assault Response Team (SART): This fundraising campaign focuses on the SART services
Program Summary
SART is the fifth tier in the multi-level CRCC. SART is a needed component to the aftermath for sexual assault victims. The members of the SART team combine professionals from medical, therapy services, advocacy and the justice system that work together to help victims and their family through the aftermath of a sexual assault. The SART membership includes a variety of social service agencies, medical facilities and members of law enforcement. Members include SANE Coordinators, (are nurses who have received a specialized education and training in forensic examinations and the evidence collection process, clinical issues relating to sexual assault,) the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, and the Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit for the City of Cleveland, the County Prosecutors Office, and the Cuyahoga County Witness/Victim Service Center.
This proposal is the outline for the $300,000.00 fundraising plan based on a two-fold individual giving and corporation matching strategy. We anticipate that the funding for the SART program will be essential and a primary part of the CRCC overall program structure, funds will be equally allocated for crucial training, facility space, general administrative cost, staff salaries and benefits, and workshops and seminars for victims and their families.
