George Washington Case
George Washington was born on February 22, 1732. His parents were none other than Augustine Washington and Mary Ball Washington. At the time of his birth, he already had two half brothers so he was not an only child. As a child, George lived with his parents in Ferry Farm. One disadvantage George had when he was younger was that his mother was very overprotective. At the time, young kids could go and play near a river by themselves, but Mary would not allow George to go, fearing he might drown. So at the age of 11, George went to live with his older half brother Lawrence. Some believe George was very lucky because he had private tutors.
When George’s brother passed away, George became greatly depressed. At the age of 20, he decided to join the Virginia militia. People were so surprised in his ability to lead that he was upgraded to being colonel George Washington. The noticed his talent in the French and Indian war where many were killed and injured. When more problems started occurring with the British, so George Washington was appointed to Commander in Chief of all American soldiers. A lot of people were surprised that he did not ask for any type of payment for this
