Golf
When the assignment was issued to write the next paper for class and that it could be about anything, golf was the first thing that came to mind. The natural and man made beauty of the sport, the tranquility, and the sheer fun of golf just makes me so eager for spring to arrive just to get out on the course again.
For most people golf is just another sport. For me golf is like walking into a painting and living in that painting for a short while. When I take that first step onto the course, and look out at the first hole, there is nothing to see but the most beautiful green grass. It looks like a painting that the most wonderful artist in the world has taken years to create. There are precise lines cut into the fairway. There are three and four different shades of green to let you know where the different lengths of grass are. There are bright white sand traps. There are even some wonderful blue-green waters on some courses. Then when the wind gusts and carries with it the wonderful smell of fresh cut grass, it feels like being in heaven.
When going onto a golf course, it is best to take some deep breaths and relax. The deep breath is also to smell the grass and trees. Golf can be a very relaxing sport, if it is not taken too seriously. Some people are just too obsessed over becoming a pro rather than enjoying the sport. Sure there is some walking and swinging involved in going out for a round of golf, but to me, being on the course is like taking a nice long nap after a hard
