Have you ever watched a basketball game on television and asked yourself "how is he so good?" Well becoming a basketball player is not all about talent, there are many other characteristics a basketball player must have to become a great player. Basketball can be considered more mental then physical, and there are many things that can knock a superior player off course, and many things that can make a not so talented player into a great player. For professional basketball players physical talent is a must, but that alone will not make you a great player. On your way to becoming a good basketball player there are many more characteristics that players must have to become a great basketball player.
To become a great basketball player you must have a good mindset to each game and on the season as a whole. You must have knowledge, not only of the game you are playing, but of the team you are playing against. If you walk into a game without knowing the tendencies of the other team then will not have good success in that particular game. Hard work is also a must, not only for yourself, but for your team as well. If your team knows that you are going to give 105% every time then they will respect you, and they will look for you when the game is on the line. You also have to have confidence in yourself, because you do not become a great player if you are scared to shoot when they game is on the line. You have to work out, if you are an athlete in any league then you must be in good physical condition because you do not want to run out of gas when then game is on the line. Determination is also very important, you must want it more then the other team, because if you don't then you will get out hustled and emotions will carry the other team. It is also very important to have personal goals; you cannot settle for a mediocre career, you must also look to get better.
