Hard Wokers
When people work long hours, those people tend to miss out on lots of activities. Everyone knows someone who works like the Energizer Bunny: "they keep going,
and going, and going"! There are three workaholics in my family: my aunt, Lula; my sister, Shemika; and my cousin, Latricia. They work all the time and miss out on
family activities all the time.
My aunt works all the time that we barely get to see her. Lula loves to care for elderly people. She is a short, dark skinned, and has a smile that will brighten
any room. Any time her job is short staffed, her boss calls on her. She makes good money, and does not need to work overtime! Lula works so much that our family
often forgets about her. She never goes shopping, out to eat, or has any free time to herself. Everyone needs time to relax and have fun.My aunt never buys new
clothes, shoes,or other personal items. My family has a tradition where we go out to eat every first Sunday of the month. She never attends because she is always
working. Your body needs time to rest. If my aunt did not have to work all the time, she could enjoy our family again.
Shemika is a hard worker that is like a hand that never stops reaching. She is the smartest person that I know. She loves to help others when
they need it. Shemika goes to the University of Illinois-Springfield and has plans of becoming a teacher after graduating from school. In her spare time, she works as
a volunteer mentoring eighth graders at Jefferson Middle School. She also does tutoring at a children's center and at her home. Shemika used to be scoial in the
community, but now she never has time for anything. She never goes to the mall or the movies anymore. It seems as though she feels that her academic life is more
important. However, she is beyond busy and "runs like a faucet". Everyone needs to relax now and then, including my sister, Shemika.
