How You Would Talk to Your Kid About Sex
Sex can be a very uncomfortable topic of conversation between a parent and child so to ease the awkwardness I think I would wait to really talk to my kid until after the first sex-ed discussion in 6th grade. I would ask if he had any questions about how it physically happens and if he did I would find a human body diagram and explain every step of it. I would tell him it may sound gross now but when he is a little older it will all make sense.
After making sure he understands what sex is and how it happens I would stress to him that there is no rush to try it. It is an adult thing and he should ignore the pressures of his friends / classmates. Everyone isn't ready emotionally to handle something as serious as sex as soon as they are physically able to do it.
Another thing I would make VERY clear is that once he is ready, unless he is married and trying to have a kid, he better use a condom. No matter what the situation is he should wear a condom 100% of the time. Birth
