Hurricane Katrina

We all know the sad weather disaster that happened August 29th, 2005. It was on the news day after day it was Hurricane Katrina. What a tragedy that many people died in. The water covered people’s houses from bottom to top. The way of getting around however was by boats. The wind was up to 140 mph.

Up goes the ocean 20 feet above the normal seat level. Emily Sohn says, “Louisiana and Mississippi was under more then a foot of water.” Many people stayed on their rooftops, but they have to be evacuated from there incase the winds and water got higher. I saw a picture of a homeless man after Hurricane Katrina he was found out to be deiced. The question is was Hurricane Katrina a natural disaster?!?! Jeffery Mount says, “the answer is yes. All hurricanes are a natural process.”
