Illicit Drugs
Illicit drugs refer to drugs that used for non-medical purposes and that are prohibited by the law. These drugs alter the mind of a person in a psychoactive way and are punishable with villain justice. Marijuana is an example of an illicit drug. Over three decades, the market for illicit drugs has become an interest of policy makers and social scientists. The essay seeks to summarize the argument of the author about marijuana sales as presented in the article and my reaction towards it.
According to the article, the authors argue that the different prices for marijuana should be regulated and standardized. That is because the author argues that marijuana users are, usually, willing to pay a higher price for high-quality marijuana despite the fact that they do not know its THC content. Although the sellers are also not aware of the THC content, they still demand a high price for their product claiming that the brand they are selling is prestigious and also very rare. More so, in other parts of America, the price of marijuana is very high hence exploiting the users. The relationship between the buyer and the seller also determine the price of marijuana hence those who do not know the sellers get exploited. The race of the buyer and the seller also determine the cost of marijuana drug.
