Ever since the establishment of the Islamic community, Ummah, it has faced a series of problems ranging from direct military aggression to psychological and economic warfare. All these assaults were meant to check their advancement. However, in the midst of all these tribulations they always came out stronger. Their commitment and enthusiasm reduced tremendously in the period, but despite this they were not defeated. Ummah,

The desires of the enemies to defeat the Ummah led them to extensive research about Islamism and their Shari‘a law. They thought this would weaken them. This became the beginning of the intellectual incursion. This resulted in disastrous consequences to the Ummah. One of them was the emergence of esoteric sects that impaired the unity of the Ummah, making them weak. Another consequence is the defeat of the Ummah in the hands of Christian crusaders and Mongols.  Western imperialism crushed the remaining resistance to transforming Islamic minds and Ethos. After victory in World War I, European armies occupied areas where the Muslims had settled. Aided by their well-researched policies, the military made an intellectual take-over giving a final blow (AbdulHamid, 1998). A spirit of struggle was rekindled among them, and renowned reformists and liberators emerged. They were guided by the Qur’an, their source of spiritual sustenance they were subjected to the most inhumane treatments (AbdulHamid, 1998).

Presently, the Ummah stands to be the nation that has passed through most humiliation and defeats. They were westernized, de-Islamized and secularized by internal and external enemies. Even I today’s media, Muslims have been stereotyped as the most aggressive, destructive, lawless, terroristic, fanatic and backward community in the world. The Muslim world is known for its inner strife and division, turbulence and self-contradictions, its wars and threats to the world’s peace. The world believes that the root of all these evils is Islam (AbdulHamid, 1998). This has led to the emergence of Ummah’s institute.

To promote the study of the Muslim education, several strategies had to be implemented. The most suitable was the integration of the secular education system with the Islamic education system. Uniting the two would guarantee access to public funding, thus promoting the vision of the Islam (AbdulHamid, 1998). De-Islamization, which had been a major problem, has been dealt with by making Islamic civilization a mandatory study in schools. After civilization, Islamization of knowledge becomes a greater step to providing deeper faith among students and the Ummah as a whole. The knowledge is capable of recasting the human knowledge into an Islamic point of view. This also can help achieve overall reformation of the distorted Islamic image following from their personality mentality and methodology.

The main objectives of the institute of Ummah community include general Islamization and the Islamization of knowledge in the world. Since solving the crisis facing the Ummah community has proved impossible, therefore, intelligence and fortitude is required to overcome obstacles and forces preventing successful Islamic civilization. Westernization and “modernization” are the prominent aliens within the fabric of the Ummah. Closely, this means that Islamization is the main goal of the Ummah and all of its constituents. However, Islamization acts to guide principles that direct human efforts and leaves little room for misguided deceptions. This means that Islamization follows truth, justice, transformation and reformation that concern all Muslims. Therefore, Islamization, bestows honor and dignity to all human beings. Islamization claims that Muslims are the standard bearers of missions in all levels of civilization based upon truth, justice, peace, and security.

Apart from Islamization, the other objective of the institution is “Islamization of knowledge”. This is what initializes the general concept of Islamization. Therefore, its foundation is the prerequisite of erecting the superstructure of the Ummah and forming the individual and collective outlook on life. To achieve this, it is essential to consider making the correct principles in order to attain genuine Islamic intellectual, which creates conducive conditions to grow the Islamic knowledge of the Muslims. A comprehensive Islamic methodology that seeks guidance from the revelation is required to make this possible. It studies the guidance given by the revelation to individuals and society for constructing, transforming, and improving all of Allah’s creations. To utilize these revelations, we have to understand them clearly.
