Josef Stalin

Josef Stalin Is considered one of the most powerful, cruel, and deceiving leaders in all history. He killed millions, betrayed many close allies and still made people believe that he was right. Even as a young person he got into a lot of trouble, like being arrested in his teenage years.

He is known as such a deceiving person and leader for many reasons. While he was in office as a secretary he formed an anti Trotsky group who was enrolled in the same group as him. He made his two main anti Trotsky supporters very high in rank in the anti Trotsky group. Shortly after succeeding in getting rid of Trotsky he completely fired his two supporters from the Bolshevik group saying that they were a threat to him and the Bolshevik party. He fired and killed many of the Armies troops because he thought that they were a threat to his power. Another example of his deceit but also his cruelty is that he killed many Jewish people because of only a belief that they were out to take him down.

Cruel, savage, vicious, fierce, and barbarous these are all words that we could use to describe some of the actions performed by Josef Stalin. One example of these outrageous acts of cruelty is that during his rule of the Soviet Union he created a group of work camps known as the Gulag. Being sent to the camps was a form of punishment for disobeying the law. The living conditions in these camps were absolutely horrible, bad food rations, and poor housing were just part of it. These people who were currently working there at the time were literally worked to death! Another action he took happened right after Leon Trotsky testified against Stalin saying that he was doing outrageous things and that he should be removed from power. So a few days after the testifying Trotsky was attacked with an ice pick. Then about a week or so later he died after being hospitalized for his injuries. And these two incidents are just few of many cruel actions performed by Josef Stalin.
