Kite Runner

It is about this boy named "Amir" I think, but anyways he lives with hos dad in this very big, and expensive home in Afganistan, his mom died while giving him birth, and they have a servent named Ali who has a son named Hassan who is the same age as him, and he is good at manythings except that he does not know how to read or write and he does not go to school because

he is the servents son. Amir and Hassan always play together and Amir likes to write stroys and trys to show his dad "Baba" that he is good at something because

his dad does not think he is good for anything, bacause the servents son is more skilled than he is at many things. Hassan always likes to hear Amirs' storys by the hill close to their

home. The servent Ali and his son are from this tribe I think the r the "Hazzar" I think and they are made fun of by everyone because

of that, and Ali has on leg that is shorter than the other one so he cannot walk well, and his son Hassan has a "hairlip" which is his lip is cut in half, and on his b-day "Baba" Amirs' dad gets a plastic sergeant

to fix it for him. Hassans mother, Alis' wife runs away from them when she sees that her baby has a hirelip and tells him that his son is the same as him they both have problems one his leg is shorter than the other one and the other has a hirelip. She runs away and becomes a dancer at some club and that is why she is beaten by the Taliban. Baba and Amir are Muslim Sunni and Ali and Hassan are Muslim Shiet. Ali is very religious

but Baba is not he drinks beer and smokes with his friends in his big house. Baba takes his son to school every day with his Mustang one of the few cars they have in Afganistan, not many people have cars, and Hassan and Ali make their

breakfast and Iron their cloth before Amir goes to school.

Amir has a new friend named "Asaf" who's mom is german and he goes to Amirs' house and tells him that he needs to get rid of Hassan because

he is a Hazzara, and Asaf has many people under hsi control because

all of the kids are afraid of him and he will beat up any kid who does not listen to him, and who does not folow him, and Asaf trys to get to Hassan to take him and torture him,but Amir tells him not to so he trys to fight Amir, but Hassan takes out his sling shot that he always has and tells him that if he moves he will lose his eye and be called the one eyed Asaf. (Hassan is very skilled at using the sling shot he can shoot and hit the target any where he wants)

They have this tradition in Afganistan of flying kites and Amir and Hassan get in the contest this year and Hassanis the best kite runner in Afganistan that is one of the many things he is skilled at, they make the kite and they go inot
