Know the History
To accomplish great things, one must be willing to recognize the past, live in the present, and have a vision for the future. Many people do not know how to use what is given to mold what can happen for them. If the past determined one's future success, many people would not have an accomplished life right now. Living in the moment makes one's life promising; it helps to show what can be accomplished in life.
Know the history. Things that happened in the past are not there to look at as paintings on a wall. One should not only watch them or read about them in textbooks. Past events should be embedded into one's mind. This is because one has to know that anything that can be thought of has probably already been tried or accomplished. Knowing this shows acceptance of another's original idea. Many people think they have the answer to a problem and try to receive credit for having known it, but they are sometimes unaware of the fact that someone has already found the resolution. If one wants to achieve great things, there must be an act of acceptance. Accept that someone once had the idea and knew it better. Once the due credit has been given, the quest for one's great accomplishment can begin. This is shown in a monumental historical event, where someone claimed to have found different things, but they did not even consider whether or not it had already been discovered. For instance, Christopher Columbus is a prominent historical character because he told everyone that he discovered America. However, this land was already inhabited by Indians. This shows that someone else discovered it long before he set foot on it. Therefore, the world's greatest memory can be considered false, because he did not know or give credit to whom it was due. Knowing the history of things, places, and events shows one's ability to accept his accomplishments as worthwhile. This is because one actually knows what it actually took for that achievement to be won.
Another way one can accomplish great things is to "be here now" and live in the present. Know that what happened in the past should be considered history and that the future is yet to come. How can one figure out what is needed without dealing with reality? The reality of something is how it is at the present moment, not how it was or will be. For example, this past year America was to vote for its next President. Citizens had no time to squabble about what happened in the past, but they had to use their minds and realize that right then a decision had to be made. The African American community mostly related with this election by a group of black celebrities screaming, "Vote or Die!"
