JUDY BLUME
Judy Blume, (born Judy Sussman), was born on February 12, 1938. She was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Her parents were Rudolph and Esther Sussman. She had one brother named David. When she was growing up she was shy and fearful until the fourth grade and then she became out going. She always loved to read, but never thought she would grow up to be a writer.
Judy graduated from Battin High School, and then she enrolled at Boston University, but became sick with mononucleosis after only two weeks and had to leave school.
Judy married John Blume on August 15, 1959. They had two children. She had a son named Randy Lee born in 1961 and a son named Lawrence Andrew born in 1963. Judy and John Blume were divorced in 1975. In 1976, she married Thomas A. Kitchens. They were divorced in 1978. In 1987, she married George Cooper with whom she has one stepdaughter named Amanda. Judy is now sixty-two years old.
All together Judy has written 22 books. Two of her books are adult novels. Some of those books are Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing, Super Fudge, Blubber, Otherwise Known as Sheila the
